Statement of the Supreme Committee

The Supreme Committee for Dealing with Covid-19 decides to:

– Maintain the lockdown of Dhofar Governorate and Wilayat Masirah until the end of Friday, July 17, 2020.

Extend the facilitation package that was offered to the private sector and its workforce in last April to continue until the end of September 2020.

– The Committee has followed with great concern the epidemiological indicators of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, which include the significant increase in cases, especially among citizens; the high number of cases in intensive care units and wards; the numbers of deaths and the report of the lack of commitment to the precautionary measures.

The Committee calls upon everyone to strictly adhere to physical distancing, wear face masks, keep their hands clean, and to follow all the other precautionary measures. It, also, calls upon everyone to realize their individual and collective responsibility, in order to protect themselves, their families and the whole society from the spread of the virus.

The Committee calls upon all institutions in the public and private sectors to provide an environment for physical distancing, monitor the commitment of all their employees and beneficiaries to the precautionary measures, as well as to monitor violators to subject them to the legal actions adopted in this regard.
