after perusal of the Omani Nationality Law 1 of 1972, and based on the matters presented by the Minister of Interior and Justice to His Majesty the Sultan,
have decided as follows
Article 1
Article 2(3) of the law is hereby amended as follows:
His application must be preceded by a continuous and legitimate actual residency in Oman for a period not less than ten years. He may leave the country from time to time for his own affairs, provided that his absence in a single year does not exceed two months. If he is married to an Omani woman, the residency period is reduced to five years after marriage.
Article 2
This amendment must be published in the Official Gazette.
