Royal Decree 41/92 Amending Royal Decree 64/83 Establishing the Omani Banking Institute

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

the Banking Law 7 of 1974,

and Royal Decree 64/83 Establishing the Omani Banking Institute,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The text of article IV of the mentioned Royal Decree 64/83 is hereby replaced with the following text:

The board of directors of the banking institute is hereby formed as follows:

– Two representatives of the Central Bank of Oman appointed by the Executive President of the Central Bank. One of whom is the chairman of the board and the other the deputy chairman
– A representative of the Ministry of Education appointed by the minister. Member
– A representative of the Vocational Training Authority appointed by the president of the authority. Member
– Four representatives of banks appointed by licensed banks. Members
– The director of the institute or his deputy. Member and secretary

Article II

All relevant entities shall implement the provisions of this decree, each within its mandates.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its publication.
