Royal Decree 119/94 Approving the Accession of the Sultanate of Oman to Some International Agreements

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and Their Disposal, of 1989,

the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change of 1992,

and the Convention on Biological Diversity of 1992,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the following international agreements is hereby approved:

1. The mentioned Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and Their Disposal.

2. The mentioned United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

3. The mentioned Convention on Biological Diversity.

Article II

Competent entities shall deposit the instruments of accession with the Secretary-General of the United Nations in accordance with the provisions of each of the three conventions.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
