Royal Decree 36/97 Recomposing the Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Banking Law 7/74 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman is hereby formed under Our chairmanship and the membership of the following:

1. Dr Ali bin Mohammed bin Moosa Minister of Health Deputy Chairman

2. Hamoud bin Sangour bin Hashim Al-Zadjali

3. Yahya bin Mohammed bin Naseeb

4. Sheikh Salim bin Hilal bin Ali Al-Khalili

5. Salim bin Abdullah bin Said Al-Rawas

6. A representative of the Ministry of Finance

The membership is for a period of five years from the date of entry into force of this decree.

Article II

All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
