Royal Decree 70/99 Amending the Law on Pensions and End of Service Gratuity for Omani Government Officers

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law on Pensions and End of Service Gratuity for Omani Government Officers issued by Royal Decree 26/86 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

A new paragraph is hereby added to the end of article 28 of the mentioned Law on Pensions and End of Service Gratuity for Omani Government Officers, the text of which is as follows:

In all cases, none of those entitled to the pension must have had a final judgment issued against him convicting him of the felony of killing the pensioner.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its publication.
