We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,
and Royal Decree 115/94 Determining the Cases of Assignment and Seizure of Employee Entitlements,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article I
A new paragraph is hereby added to the text of article I of the mentioned Royal Decree 115/94 with the following text:
It is permitted to assign or withhold salaries and allowances up to half of the salary or allowance for contractors of these categories in fulfilment of a fixed debt to the government, without prejudice to the priority of the maintenance debt, to the extent that it does not exceed a quarter of the salary or allowance. If the service of the contractor ends, the dues of the government must be deducted from the end-of-service gratuity and from any other entitlements.
Article II
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its publication.
