Royal Decree 21/2001 Approving the Assignment by Phillips Petroleum Oman Ltd. of Part of Its Stake in the Petroleum Agreement Signed on 15 June 1996 to Berkeley Petroleum Oman Inc.

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Oil and Minerals Law issued by Royal Decree 42/74,

Royal Decree 65/96 Approving the Petroleum Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate and Phillips Petroleum Oman Limited,

Royal Decree 76/97 Approving the Assignment by Phillips Petroleum Oman Limited of Part of Its Stake in the Petroleum Agreement Signed on 15 June 1996 to Maersk Oil Oman AS,

the contract dated 19 November 1999 by which Philips Petroleum Oman Limited assigned 25% (twenty-five percent) of its rights and obligations in the petroleum agreement signed on 15 June 1996 to Berkeley Petroleum Oman Inc, which accepts this assignment,

and the letter of the Minister of Oil and Gas dated 3 February 2001 approving the assignment,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The assignment by Philips Petroleum Oman Limited of 25% (twenty-five percent) of its rights and obligations in the mentioned petroleum agreement signed on 15 June 1996 to Maersk Oil Oman AS is hereby approved. The final shares of the parties to the agreement are as follows:

75% for Philips Petroleum Oman Limited.

25% for Maersk Oil Oman AS.

25% for Berkeley Petroleum Oman Inc.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
