Royal Decree 83/2001 Recomposing the Board of Directors of Oman Telecommunications Company

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and Royal Decree 46/99 Transforming the Public Authority for Telecommunications Into an Omani Closed Joint Stock Company (SAOC),

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Board of Directors of Oman Telecommunications Company is hereby recomposed under the chairmanship of the Minister of Transport and Communications and the membership of:

– Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance for Financial Affairs—Deputy Chairman.

– Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information.

– Secretary General of the Tender Board.

– Chief executive officer of the company.

– A representative of the Ministry of Defence selected by the Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs.

– Advisor of Telecommunications at the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
