Royal Decree 29/2003 Issuing the Law of Pensions and End of Service Gratuity for the Employees of the Internal Security Service

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

Royal Decree 7/94 Establishing the Internal Security Service Pension Fund and its amendments,

Royal Decree 9/98 Adopting the Service System for the Employees of the Internal Security Service,

and Royal Decree 22/2000 Issuing the System of Pensions and End of Service Gratuity for the Employees of the Internal Security Service,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The attached Law of Pensions and End of Service Gratuity for the Employees of the Internal Security Service hereby applies.

Article II

All rights that arose or resulted from the application of any law, system, or rules relating to retirement to the employees of the Internal Security Service before the date of entry into force of this decree are considered valid and effective.

Article III

The fund is exempt from all taxes and fees.

Article IV

The Head of the Internal Security Service shall issue the necessary regulations and decisions to implement the attached law.

Article V

The mentioned Royal Decree 22/2000 is hereby repealed, and all that is contrary to the provisions of the attached law.

Article VI

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on 1 January 2003.
