Royal Decree 90/2003 Amending Some Provisions of the Advocacy Law

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Advocacy Law issued by Royal Decree 108/96 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The text of article 66 of the Advocacy Law is hereby replaced with the following text:

Omani lawyers are exempt from the provisions of article 6 until 31 December 2008. In all cases, non-Omanis may not appear or plead before the courts after this date. This is without prejudice to the provisions of article 68.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
