Royal Decree 91/2003 Transferring the Mandate of Licensing the Establishment and Operation of Fuel Filling Stations and Warehouses for the Sale of Liquid Petroleum Gas Cylinders to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State issued by Royal Decree 26/75 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Without prejudice to the mandates prescribed to the Ministry of Oil and Gas, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry hereby has the mandate to license the establishment and operation of fuel filling stations and warehouses for the sale of liquid petroleum gas cylinders, and to monitor the distribution of the mentioned products throughout the Sultanate of Oman.

Article II

The Directorate of Petroleum Products in the headquarters of the Ministry of Oil and Gas and the Directorate of Oil and Gas Services in Salalah, their officers, and their allocations are hereby transferred from the Ministry of Oil and Gas to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and the organisational structure of each of the two ministries must be amended accordingly.

Article III

All that is contrary to this decree is hereby repealed.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
