We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,
the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State issued by Royal Decree 26/75 and its amendments,
Royal Decree 6/91 Adopting the Administrative Division of the Sultanate and its amendments,
the Civil Service Law issued by Royal Decree 120/2004 and its amendments,
and Royal Decree 3/2003 Adopting the Organisational Structure of the Ministry of Interior,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article I
A governorate named the Governorate of Buraimi is hereby established, comprising the Wilayat of Buraimi, Mahdah, and Sunainah. It must be within the administrative divisions of the Ministry of Interior and under the direct supervision of its minister.
Article II
The headquarters of the governor must be in the Wilayat of Buraimi. His mandates must be issued by a decision by the Minister of Interior after the approval of the Council of Ministers, and he must be granted the special grade.
Article III
The annex attached to the mentioned Royal Decree 6/91 is hereby amended in accordance with the provisions of this decree.
Article IV
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
