Royal Decree 37/2007 Regarding the Accession of the Sultanate of Oman to Some International Treaties Related to the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Brussels Convention Relating to the Distribution of Programme-Carrying Signals Transmitted by Satellite 1974,

the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure 1977,

the Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks 1989,

the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants 1991,

the Trademark Law Treaty 1994,

and the Patent Law Treaty 2000,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the mentioned protocol and treaties is hereby approved.

Article II

Competent entities shall deposit the instruments of accession to the protocol and treaties in accordance with their provisions.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
