We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,
and Royal Decree 56/2020 Determining the Dates of Official Holidays,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article I
The dates of official holidays for the units of the administrative apparatus of the state, other public legal persons, and establishments of the private sector are hereby determined for the following celebrations and occasions as follows:
First:
(a) Hijri New Year | 1 Muharram |
(b) Birth of the Prophet | 12 Rabi Al-Awwal |
(c) Isra and Mi’raj | 27 Rajab |
(d) National Day | 18 and 19 November |
(e) The Day of the Sultan’s Accession to Power |
If one or both days of the weekend fall within the aforementioned holidays, they are compensated by one day.
The date of the aforementioned holidays may be modified if public interest so requires.
Second:
(a) Eid Al-Fitr: starting from 29 Ramadan until 3 Shawwal.
(b) Eid Al-Adha: starting from 9 Dhu Al-Hijja until 12 Dhu Al-Hijja.
Friday is compensated if it falls on the first day of either Eid.
Article II
The aforementioned Royal Decree 56/2020 is hereby repealed, as well as all that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions.
Article III
This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
