Royal Decree 79/98 Ratifying the Amendment of the Agreement Establishing the INTELSAT Organization and Its Operating Agreement

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the agreement establishing the INTELSAT Organization,

the operating agreement of the mentioned organisation,

and Royal Decree 80/95 Ratifying the Amendment of the Agreement Establishing the INTELSAT Organization and Its Operating Agreement,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The amendment of articles 1, 2, 8, 9, 16, and 17 of the agreement establishing the INTELSAT Organization is hereby ratified as approved by the assembly of parties at its twentieth meeting held in Copenhagen in Denmark in August 1995.

Article II

The amendment of articles 6, 14, 15, and 22 of the INTELSAT Operating Agreement is hereby ratified as approved by the assembly of signatories held in Washington DC in the United States of America during the period from 16–17 April 1996.

Article III

The mentioned Royal Decree 80/95 is hereby repealed.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
