Royal Decree 110/2007 regarding the Restricted Area Surrounding the Foreign Ministry Building

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Without prejudice to the existing establishments and buildings, it is prohibited to license—or renew—any commercial, touristic, cultural, sports, or recreational activities, to establish any new establishments, services, facilities, or buildings of any kind, whether permanent or temporary, in the restricted area surrounding the Foreign Ministry building, or to make any amendments to the licences and ownership deed of the existing establishments and buildings, in a manner that leads to a change in their form or uses, whether above or under the ground, except after obtaining the approval of the Foreign Ministry.

Holders of licences issued before the entry into force of the provisions of this decree shall also obtain the approval of this ministry when implementing or renewing them.

Article II

All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.
