Lex AI User Guide

Lex AI is an artificial intelligence research assistant for answering legal questions, creating summaries, and generating compliance checklists. This guide provides the best practices for effectively interacting with the AI tool.

Lex AI generates its answers exclusively using the information available on Decree.

Lex AI does not have access to the open internet and can only answer questions if the information is available on Decree in text format. This means that items that have not been translated on Decree, even if they are available on Qanoon in Arabic, are not accessible by Lex AI.

Lex AI currently only has access to Decree Legislation and Decree Intel.

Lex AI cannot answer questions relating to information on Decree Risk, Decree Toolkits, or the Decree Blog.

Lex AI currently does not have access to repealed items.

To ensure the accuracy of answers generated by our model, Lex AI only has access to laws currently in force and does not have access to repealed laws, even when such repealed laws are available on Decree. For example, the old Labour Law is not included in Lex’s knowledge base.

Lex AI works best when you ask questions relating to a specific law.

Even though Lex AI can generate answers that require analysing multiple pieces of legislation, it works best when the question is related to a single piece of legislation.

If Lex AI is unable to answer a question, you can try asking the same question using a more general approach.

For example, if the AI is unable to answer the question “in what cases can the court reject enforcing a foreign judgment,” try asking the same question using a different approach. For example, “what are the requirements for enforcing a foreign court judgment”.
