COVID-19 Supreme Committee Decision of 16 July 2021

Statement of the Supreme Committee

Within its continuous sessions held to evaluate and address the developments of COVID-19 in the Sultanate, the Supreme Committee has examined the latest epidemiological updates of the pandemic and the appropriate interventions for dealing with its effects. Therefore, pursuing to protect the community from the pandemic, especially from its new variants, and to safeguard the capabilities of the local healthcare system, the committee has decided to extend the complete lockdown period for commercial activities and the movement of individuals and vehicles throughout Eid al-Adha days to end on Saturday morning at 4:00am, 14 Thu al-Hijjah 1442, corresponding to July 24, 2021.

The committee has also decided to remove the Republic of Singapore and Brunei Darussalam from the list of countries from which entry of arrivals to the Sultanate is forbidden, provided that this decision comes into effect at 5pm Monday 9 Thu al-Hijjah 1442, corresponding to July 19, 2021 AD.
