Royal Decree 51/2000 Appointing a Non-Resident Ambassador

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Diplomatic and Consular Corps Law issued by Royal Decree 40/86 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Ambassador Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Zahir Al-Hinai, Our ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Kingdom of Norway and the Kingdom of Denmark.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 50/2000 Amending Some Provisions of the System of Majlis Al-Dawla and Majlis Al-Shura

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and Royal Decree 86/97 regarding Majlis Oman,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The text of article 11(a) of the System of Majlis Al-Dawla and Majlis Al-Shura attached to Royal Decree 86/97 is hereby replaced with the following text:

Majlis Al-Dawla must consist of a number of members not exceeding the number of members of Majlis Al-Shura, appointed by royal decree.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 49/2000 Amending the Name of the Colleges of Education for Male and Female Teachers

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Basic Statute of the Colleges of Education for Male and Female Teachers issued by Royal Decree 79/95 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The name “Colleges of Education for Male and Female Teachers” is hereby amended wherever it occurs in the mentioned Royal Decree 79/95 or in any other decree or law to the name “Colleges of Education”.

Article II

All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 48/2000 Amending Some Provisions of the Law on Pensions and End of Service Gratuity for Omani Government Employees

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law on Pensions and End of Service Gratuity for Omani Government Employees issued by Royal Decree 26/86,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The text of article 5 of the mentioned Law on Pensions and End of Service Gratuity for Omani Government Employees is hereby replaced with the following text:

Article 5

It is permitted to extend the service of an employee who has reached retirement age by a decision by the Civil Service Council, if the public interest so requires, for a period of one year renewable up to a maximum of five years.

In the cases it deems appropriate, the council may make exemptions to the provisions of this article.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

have decreed as follows

Article I

The mandates of the Ministry of Justice are hereby determined in accordance with the attached annex 1.

Article II

The Organisational Structure of the Ministry of Justice is hereby adopted in accordance with the attached annex 2.

Article III

All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

His Highness Sayyid Jaifar bin Salim bin Ali Al-Said, Our ambassador to the French Republic, is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Portuguese Republic.

Article II

Ambassador Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Zahir Al-Hinai, Our ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Kingdom of Sweden and the Swiss Confederation.

Article III

Ambassador Khadija bint Hassan bin Salman Al-Lawati, Our ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
