Royal Decree 88/80 on the Accession of the Sultanate to the Convention on the International Maritime Satellite Organization (INMARSAT)

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and the Convention on the International Maritime Satellite Organization (INMARSAT) and its operating agreement, signed in London on 3 September 1976,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the mentioned International Maritime Satellite Organization and the adherence to its convention are hereby approved.

Article II

The Minister of Post, Telegraph, and Telephone is hereby authorised to sign the operating agreement of the mentioned organisation on behalf of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman.

Article III

All relevant entities, each within its mandate, shall undertake the necessary measures to implement this decree.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
