We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,
Royal Decree 42/74 Issuing the Oil and Minerals Law,
Royal Decree 51/75 Regarding the Petroleum Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate and Quintana International Limited and its amendments, especially Royal Decree 57/79,
and the approval of the Minister of Oil and Minerals to amend the text of article 4(1)(a), as set out in his letter dated 20 April 1981, based on the request of Quintana Company and its associates dated 31 March 1981,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article 1
The Minister of Oil and Minerals is hereby authorised to approve the request to amend article 4(1)(a) of the mentioned petroleum agreement concluded between the Government of the Sultanate and Quintana International Limited on 7 December 1975, as follows:
The text in English is hereby amended to read:
(a) Seventy-five percent (75%) of the original contract area by the first day of March 1982.
Article 2
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
