We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,
and Royal Decree 5/80 Issuing the Land Law,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article 1
All government lands located in the Sawadi region and specified in the attached cadastral map are hereby allocated for tourism purposes.
Article 2
It is prohibited to distribute the lands referred to in the preceding article or to dispose of them in any manner of disposal except for tourism purposes carried out by the competent government entity. It is not permitted to dispose of them to any entity other than this entity except by virtue of a royal decree.
Article 3
Lawsuits regarding the ownership of the mentioned land or the enjoyment of any other rights over it are hereby not admissible except by virtue of recognised legal instruments issued prior to this decree.
Article 4
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
