Royal Decree 58/86 Appointing a Special Adviser to His Majesty the Sultan and Abolishing the Ministry of Royal Diwan Affairs

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

His Excellency Sayyid Hamad bin Hamoud is hereby appointed a Special Advisor to His Majesty the Sultan.

Article 2

The Ministry of Royal Diwan Affairs is hereby abolished, and its units and Mandates shall be distributed as follows:

(a) The Diwan of Royal Court shall supervise the Headquarters of the Ministry until the Council of Ministers completes its study on the method of distributing its officers among the various state bodies.

(b) Coordination must be carried out between the Diwan of Royal Court and the Ministry of Interior regarding the mandates assigned to each of them in matters relating to tribal affairs, and the organisational structure of each of them must be amended accordingly.

(c) The Directorate General of Accounts Audit is hereby annexed to the Diwan of Royal Court.

Article 3

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
