We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,
and Royal Decree 64/78 issuing the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article 1
The Project to Construct Hajar Municipality Building specified in the attached note and masterplan is hereby deemed a public benefit project.
Article 2
The competent entities may seize, through direct execution, real estate and land necessary for the mentioned project, and all establishments on them, in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.
Article 3
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Note on the Project to Construct Hajar Municipality Building
In view of the fact that the construction of a modern building for Hajar Municipality on a suitable site has become necessary, as the current building is rented and insufficient to accommodate all its activities, the Diwan of Royal Court has prepared a comprehensive project for the construction of a new building for the mentioned municipality, and requests, in the public interest, that procedures be undertaken to expropriate the properties that obstruct this project.
Attached to this memorandum is a statement of the project masterplan.
