We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,
Royal Decree 5/73 Issuing the Police Law,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article I
A new paragraph is hereby added to article II of the mentioned Royal Decree 6/89, with the following text:
“Final decisions issued by the mentioned committees are deemed enforceable judicial rulings, and the Royal Oman Police shall assist in the enforcement procedures.”
Article II
A new article numbered IIbis is hereby added to the mentioned Royal Decree 6/89, with the following text:
In the event of failure to implement the decisions issued by the mentioned committees, the offender must be referred to the competent criminal court and must be punished by imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months and a fine not exceeding three hundred Rial Omani, or one of those two punishments, in addition to being compulsorily required to implement the decision.
Article III
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its publication.
