Royal Decree 72/90 Amending Some Provisions of the Statute of the Omani National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 95/88 on the Statute of the Omani National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The text of article 2 of the mentioned Statute of the Omani National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science is hereby replaced with the following text:

Article 2

The commission is hereby formed as follows:

– Minister of Education and Youth Chairman
– Undersecretary of the ministry for education affairs Deputy chairman
– Representatives with the rank of director general for:

Sultan Qaboos University—

Ministry of Education and Youth, Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Information, and Ministry of National Heritage and Culture—and a representative of the Development Council

Members
– Secretary general of the commission Member and secretary
– Three persons appointed by the chairman of the commission from among persons interested in the affairs of education, culture, and science, and whose term of membership is three years, subject to renewal.

The chairperson of the committee may, in coordination with other ministries related to the activities and work of the committee, add to its membership representatives with the rank of director general from those ministries.

Article 2

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
