Royal Decree 57/94 Approving the Accession of the Sultanate to Protocols on Environmental Protection

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

Royal Decree 93/84 Ratifying the Accession of the Sultanate to the International Convention on Civil Liability for Oil Pollution Damage 1969,

Royal Decree 94/84 Ratifying the Accession of the Sultanate to the International Convention on the Establishment of an International Fund for Compensation for Oil Pollution Damage 1971,

the Protocol of 1992 to Amend the International Convention on Civil Liability for Oil Pollution Damage 1969,

and the Protocol of 1992 to Amend the International Convention on the Establishment of an International Fund for Compensation for Oil Pollution Damage 1971,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the Protocol of 1992 to Amend the International Convention on Civil Liability for Oil Pollution Damage 1969 and the Protocol of 1992 to Amend the International Convention on the Establishment of an International Fund for Compensation for Oil Pollution Damage 1971 is hereby approved.

Article II

Competent entities shall deposit the instrument of accession in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned protocols.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
