Royal Decree 5/96 Approving the Accession of the Sultanate to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification in Those Countries Experiencing Serious Drought and/or Desertification, Particularly in Africa

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification in Those Countries Experiencing Serious Drought and/or Desertification, Particularly in Africa,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The mentioned United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification in Those Countries Experiencing Serious Drought and/or Desertification, Particularly in Africa is hereby approved.

Article II

Competent entities shall undertake the procedures for acceding to the agreement in accordance with its provisions.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
