We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,
and Royal Decree 56/91 Determining the Dates of Official Holidays,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article I
The official holidays for ministries, public authorities, and other units of the administrative apparatus of the state are hereby determined for the following celebrations and occasions as follows:
First:
(a) Hijri New Year: 1 Muharram.
(b) Birth of the Prophet: 12 Rabi Al-Awwal.
(c) Isra and Mi’raj: 27 Rajab.
(d) National Day: 18 and 19 November.
If one or both days of the weekend fall within the mentioned holidays, they are compensated by one day. The date of the National Day holiday may be amended if the public interest so requires.
Second:
(a) Eid Al-Fitr, from 29 Ramadan to 3 Shawwal.
(b) Eid Al-Adha, from 9 Dhu Al-Hijja to 12 Dhu Al-Hijja.
Friday is compensated if it falls on the first day of either Eid.
Article II
All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.
Article III
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its publication.
