Royal Decree 53/2001 Appointing to Some Judicial Positions

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Judicial Authority Law issued by Royal Decree 90/99 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

His Excellency Sayyid Hilal bin Hamad Al-Busaidi, Advisor to the State for Judicial Affairs, is hereby appointed President of the Supreme Court.

Article II

Dr Sayyid Said bin Hilal Al-Busaidi is hereby appointed Deputy President of the Supreme Court.

Article III

The following are hereby appointed Supreme Court Judges:

– Sheikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al-Siyabi.

– Sheikh Ishaq bin Ahmed Al-Busaidi.

– Ali bin Salim bin Ali Al-Naamani.

– Abdullah bin Mohammed Said Al-Kaabi.

– Khalifa bin Said bin Khalifa Al-Busaidi.

– Hussain bin Ali bin Zahir Al-Hilali.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of entry into force of the mentioned Judicial Authority Law.
