Royal Decree 55/2001 Amending the Civil Association Law

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Civil Associations Law issued by Royal Decree 14/2000 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

A new article numbered 5bis is hereby added to the mentioned Civil Associations Law, with the following text:

Article 5bis

The Council of Ministers may—on the basis of a proposal by the minister—approve the establishment of associations that do not meet the conditions and circumstances stipulated in this law, and it may exempt them from some of the provisions provided in it.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its publication.
