Royal Decree 38/2004 Amending Some Provisions of Royal Decree 7/82 Establishing Oman Oil Refinery Company LLC

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Commercial Companies Law 4/74 and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 7/82 Establishing Oman Oil Refinery LLC and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Paragraph (d) is hereby added to article II of the mentioned Royal Decree 7/82 with the following text:

(d) Establishing and operating refineries and projects for the production of petroleum and natural gas derivatives and the export of their products, and contributing to companies operating in the mentioned fields.

Article II

The texts of articles V and VI of the mentioned Royal Decree 7/82 are hereby replaced with the following texts:

Article V

The duration of the company is fifty Gregorian years and may be extended or renewed by royal decree.

Article VI

The company may obtain from the government the crude oil and natural gas it requires in sufficient quantities to achieve its objectives.

Article III

The constitutive contract of the company and its articles of association must be amended in accordance with the provisions of this decree.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
