Royal Decree 6/2006 Establishing the Omani Plants Nature Reserve

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit issued by Royal Decree 64/78 and its amendments,

and the Nature Reserves and Wildlife Conservation Law issued by Royal Decree 6/2003,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The area specified in the attached map is hereby made a protected natural site named the “Omani Plants Nature Reserve”, subordinate to the Diwan of Royal Court.

Article II

The competent entities may seize, through direct execution, buildings, land, and establishments on them, necessary for the establishment of the reserve, in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.

Article III

Without prejudice to the provisions of the mentioned Royal Decree 6/2003, the Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court shall exercise all the powers prescribed to the minister and the committees in this law in regard to the mentioned reserve, and he shall issue the regulations and decisions implementing this decree in coordination with the relevant entities.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
