Royal Decree 110/2008 Amending Some Provisions of Royal Decree 84/2007 on Conducting the General Census of Population, Residences, and Establishments for 2010

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Statistics Law issued by Royal Decree 29/2001,

Royal Decree 84/2007 Conducting the General Census of Population, Residences, and Establishments for 2010,

and the decision of the Ministerial Committee for Planning and Development of the States of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf at its eighteenth meeting agreeing to set the month of April 2010 as the starting reference time for all the states of the council,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The text of article 1 of the provisions on conducting the General Census of Population, Residences, and Establishments for 2010 attached to the mentioned Royal Decree 84/2007 is hereby replaced with the following text: “A comprehensive census of population, residences, and establishments must be conducted, its procedures must be completed, and the actual counting must begin in April 2010.”

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.
