Royal Decree 54/2010 Establishing the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the System of Public Authorities and Establishments issued by Royal Decree 116/91,

the Financial Law issued by Royal Decree 47/98,

Royal Decree 65/98 Establishing the Higher Education Council,

Royal Decree 74/2001 Establishing the Accreditation Council,

Royal Decree 6/2002 Determining the Competences of the Ministry of Higher Education and Adopting Its Organisational Structure,

and the Civil Service Law promulgated by Royal Decree 120/2004,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

An authority named the “Oman Academic Accreditation Authority” is hereby established to replace the Accreditation Council, subordinate to the Higher Education Council, and the attached system applies in regard to it.

Article II

The chairman of the board of directors of the authority shall issue the necessary regulations and decisions to implement the provisions of the attached system.

Article III

Royal Decree 74/2001 Establishing the Accreditation Council is hereby repealed.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.
