Royal Decree 73/2011 Amending Some Provisions of the System for Government Land Entitlement

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Land Law promulgated by Royal Decree 5/80,

the System for Government Land Entitlement promulgated by Royal Decree 81/84,

the Real Estate Register System promulgated by Royal Decree 2/98,

and the Financial Law promulgated by Royal Decree 47/98,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

A national who does not work and a national whose monthly income does not exceed 300 (three hundred) Rial Omani are hereby exempted from paying the value of the residential land granted to him.

Article II

A person with disability is hereby exempt from the value of the government land granted to him.

Article III

Paragraph 3 of the conditions for granting residential land stipulated in the aforementioned System for Government Land Entitlement is hereby repealed.

Article IV

All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article V

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from 18 May 2011.
