We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,
the Law Governing the Sohar Development Office promulgated by Royal Decree 9/97,
and Royal Decree 47/2008 Adopting the Organisational Structure of the Diwan of Royal Court,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article I
The name “Sohar Development Office” is hereby replaced with the name “Sohar Municipality”, wherever it appears in laws and decrees in force.
Article II
All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.
Article III
This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
