We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,
the Judicial Authority Law issued by Royal Decree 90/99,
Royal Decree 10/2012 Regarding the Governance of the Administration of Judicial Affairs,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article I
A secretariat general for the Council of Administrative Affairs for the Judiciary stipulated in the mentioned Judicial Authority Law is hereby established named the “Secretariat General of the Council of Administrative Affairs for the Judiciary”. It shall assist the council and its chairman in the exercise of their legally prescribed competences.
Article II
The Secretariat General of the Council of Administrative Affairs for the Judiciary must be managed by a full-time secretary general seconded from among the deputy chairmen of the Supreme Court by a decision by the Chairman of the Council of Administrative Affairs for the Judiciary after the approval of the council for a period of three years, renewable for a similar period or periods, with the same entitlements and job allowances. He must be paid a management allowance determined by a decision by the chairman after the approval of the council.
Article III
The mandates of the Secretary General must be determined by a decision by the Chairman of the Council of Administrative Affairs for the Judiciary after the approval of the council.
Article IV
The organisational structure of the Secretariat General of the Council of Administrative Affairs for the Judiciary is hereby adopted in accordance with the attached annex.
Article V
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
