Royal Decree 53/2013 on the Application of the Provisions of the Law on Pensions and End of Service Gratuity for Omani Government Employees to the Employees of the Omani Olympic Committee and the Sports Federations

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Law on Pensions and End of Service Gratuity for Omani Government Employees issued by Royal Decree 26/86,

the Social Insurance Law issued by Royal Decree 72/91,

and the Law on Private Entities Working in the Field of Sports issued by Royal Decree 81/2007,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The provisions of the Law on Pensions and End of Service Gratuity for Omani Government Employees hereby apply to occupants of permanent positions in the Oman Olympic Committee and sports federations.

The Public Authority for Social Insurance shall transfer the proceeds of contributions for the period of their previous service to the Pensions and End of Service Gratuity Fund for Omani Government Employees.

The provisions of the first paragraph of this article apply on the date the provisions of this decree come into force, to whoever reaches the age of sixty and is still at his position.

Article II

The Ministry of Finance shall pay the financial cost resulting from the application of the provisions of this decree to the Pensions and End of Service Gratuity Fund for Omani Government Employees.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.
