Royal Decree 23/2016 Amending the Name of the Human Rights Commission

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and Royal Decree 124/2008 Establishing the Human Rights Commission and Determining Its Competences,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The name “Human Rights Commission” provided in the aforementioned Royal Decree 124/2008 and its attached annex, and wherever it occurs in laws and royal decrees, is hereby replaced with the name “Oman Human Rights Commission”.

Article II

All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article III

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
