Royal Decree 29/2016 Transferring and Appointing in the Diplomatic Corps

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law Governing the Foreign Ministry promulgated by Royal Decree 32/2008,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The ambassadors named below are hereby transferred to the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry:

1. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Ali Al-Qatabi, Our ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.

2. Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al-Wahaibi, Our ambassador to the State of Qatar.

3. Hussain bin Omar bin Abdullah Al-Ibrahim, Our ambassador to the Republic of Tunisia.

4. His Highness Sayyid Qais bin Salim bin Ali Al-Said, Our ambassador to the Republic of Turkey.

5. Riyadh bin Yousuf bin Ahmed Al-Raisi, Our ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

6. Khalid bin Sulaiman bin Abdulrahman Baomar, Our ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany.

7. Mohammed bin Khalil bin Saleh Al-Jazmi, Our ambassador to the Republic of Senegal.

8. Ahmed bin Barakat bin Abdullah Al-Ibrahim, Our ambassador to the Republic of Lebanon.

Article II

The following are hereby transferred:

1. Ambassador Lyutha bint Sultan bin Ahmed Al-Mughairiya, Permanent Representative of the Sultanate to the United Nations in New York, and is hereby appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Federal Republic of Germany.

2. Ambassador Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa Al-Harthy, Our ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and is hereby appointed as the Permanent Representative of the Sultanate to the United Nations in New York.

3. Ambassador Dr Khalid bin Said bin Salim Al-Jaradi, Our ambassador to the Federal Republic of Brazil, and is hereby appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the United Arab Emirates.

4. Ambassador Bader bin Mohammed bin Bader Al-Mandhari, Our ambassador to the Republic of Yemen, and is hereby appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of Lebanon.

5. Ambassador Dr Qasim bin Mohammed bin Salim Al-Salhi, Our Ambassador to the State of Libya, and is hereby appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of Turkey.

6. Ambassador Saud bin Ali bin Mohammed Al-Ruqaishi, Our ambassador to the United Republic of Tanzania, and is hereby appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of Tunisia.

Article III

The following are hereby appointed:

1. Ambassador Dr Ali bin Ahmed bin Harib Al-Issai an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative of the Sultanate to the League of Arab States.

2. Ambassador Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Suleiman Al-Amri an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of Senegal.

Article IV

The following are hereby granted:

1. Minister Plenipotentiary Sheikh Mohammed bin Omar bin Ahmed Al-Marhoon the title of ambassador, and is hereby appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

2. Minister Plenipotentiary Ali bin Abdullah bin Salim Al-Mahrouqi the title of ambassador, and is hereby appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the United Republic of Tanzania.

3. Counsellor Imad bin Hamoud bin Salim Al-Abri the title of ambassador, and is hereby appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Federal Republic of Brazil.

4. Counsellor Najeeb bin Yahya bin Zerouk Al-Balushi the title of ambassador, is hereby appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the State of Qatar.

Article V

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
