Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources: Ministerial Decision 198/2025 Banning the Import of Live Birds from the Region of Extremadura in the Kingdom of Spain

Based on the Veterinary Quarantine Law issued by Royal Decree 45/2004,

the Executive Regulation of the Veterinary Quarantine Law issued by Ministerial Decision 107/2008,

and the recommendation of the competent veterinary entity to ban the import of live birds and their products, derivatives, and waste from the region of Extremadura in the Kingdom of Spain, and in pursuance of public interest,

it is hereby decided

Article I

The import of live birds and their products, derivatives, and waste from the region of Extremadura in the Kingdom of Spain is hereby banned, until the reason for the ban ceases and a decision is issued in this regard.

Products, derivatives, and waste that are heat treated or processed in accordance with the Terrestrial Animals Health Code issued by the Office International des Epizooties (OIE)/the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) are excluded.

Article II

The competent entities shall implement this decision, each in their fields of competence.

Article III

This decision must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.
