Based on the Civil Associations Law issued by Royal Decree 14/2000,

and in pursuance of public interest,

it is hereby decided

Article I

A civil association named the “Oman Animal Welfare Association” is hereby founded.

Article II

The summary of the constitution of the association must be published in the Official Gazette in accordance with the procedures followed in this regard.

Article III

This decision comes into force from the date of its issuance, and those concerned shall implement it.

Summary of the Constitution of the Oman Animal Welfare Association

Name of Association:

Oman Animal Welfare Association.

Number and Founding Date of the Association:

171/2025 issued on 24 Dhu Al-Qa’dah 1446, corresponding to 22 May 2025.

Registration Number:

Objectives:

The association operates in the field of care of stray and injured animals and aims to:

1. These laws support and promote compassionate treatment behavior and the care and rehabilitation of injured animals in the Sultanate of Oman.

2. Promoting the global understanding of the needs of animals and improving their lives in the Sultanate of Oman, by providing the necessary training and education in schools to all persons working in animal care, treatment, and welfare.

3. Strengthening the necessary legislation to protect all animals from abuse.

4. Supporting and promoting Omani animals and breeds.

5. Arranging funded events and providing sponsorship to this association in a way that supports and enhances its promotion.

6. Encouraging support and cooperation with other animal welfare organisations and professionals to achieve the primary objective of protecting these animals from abuse.

Management of the Association:

The association must be managed by a board of directors consisting of 5 (five) to 12 (twelve) members that has a term of 2 (two) years. It is permitted to elect those whose membership expires.

Resources of the Association:

The funds of the association consist of:

1. Members contributions.

2. Donations, gifts, and bequests, provided that the minister approves their acceptance.

3. Revenue from activities.

4. Government subsidies.

5. Other various revenues approved by the ministry.
