Royal Decree 41/2007 Establishing a Directorate General for Scouts and Guides in the Ministry of Education

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Law on Scouting in the Sultanate of Oman issued by Royal Decree 10/75,

the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State issued by Royal Decree 26/75,

the Mandates of the Ministry of Education issued by Royal Decree 19/97,

the Organisational Structure of the Ministry of Education issued by Royal Decree 32/2001,

and the Civil Service Law issued by Royal Decree 120/2004,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

A Directorate General for Scouts and Guides is hereby established at the Ministry of Education, reporting directly to the minister, and its mandates must be determined by a ministerial decision.

Article II

The property of the Scouts and Guides National Authority and all its holdings are hereby transferred to the Ministry of Education, and the annual budget allocated to the authority is hereby transferred to it.

Article III

All employees of the mentioned authority are hereby transferred to the Ministry of Education with their same grades and financial allocations.

Article IV

The mentioned Law on Scouting in the Sultanate of Oman issued by Royal Decree 10/75 is hereby repealed, as well as all that is contrary to the provisions of this decree.

Article V

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
