Royal Decree 62/2026 Amending Some Provisions of the Cultural Heritage Law

We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,

the Cultural Heritage Law issued by Royal Decree 35/2019,

Royal Decree 87/2020 Establishing the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, Determining Its Mandates, and Adopting Its Organisational Structure,

and Royal Decree 91/2020 Amending the Name of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture to the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Determining Its Mandates, and Adopting Its Organisational Structure,

and after presentation to Majlis Oman,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The text of article II of the mentioned Royal Decree 35/2019 is hereby replaced with the following text:

The Minister of Heritage and Tourism shall, after coordination with the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth, issue the executive regulation of the attached law and the necessary decisions for implementing it, and until they are issued, the existing regulations and decisions continue to operate to the degree that they do not contradict with the provisions of the attached law.

Article II

The attached amendments are hereby made to the mentioned Cultural Heritage Law.

Article III

All that is contrary to the attached amendments, or in conflict with their provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.
