We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,
and Royal Decree 4/93 Establishing the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates and its amendments,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article I
The text of article 4 of the Constitution of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates is hereby replaced with the following text:
Article 4
The management of the establishment must be undertaken by a board of directors formed under the chairmanship of the minister and a number of members appointed by a decision by him from among those with competence after the approval of the Council of Ministers.
The board shall choose from among its members at its first meeting a deputy chairman.
The board of directors may invite whomever it deems fit from the managers or experts to attend the sessions without having a counted vote in the deliberations. The board shall convene in the presence of the majority of the members, provided that the chairman or his deputy is among them. The decisions of the board must be issued by a majority of the votes of those present, and the deputy chairman shall replace the chairman in his absence.
Article II
The phrase “chief executive officer of the establishment” is hereby replaced with the phrase “executive director of the establishment” and the phrase “director general of the zone or manager of the zone”, as the case may be is hereby replaced with the phrase “manager of the zone” wherever it occurs in the constitution of the establishment.
Article III
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
