We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against the Safety of Maritime Navigation and the Protocol for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against the Safety of Fixed Platforms Located on the Continental Shelf signed in the city of Rome,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the mentioned Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against the Safety of Maritime Navigation and the Protocol for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against the Safety of Fixed Platforms Located on the Continental Shelf is hereby approved.

Article 2

Competent entities shall deposit the instruments of accession with the General Secretariat of the International Maritime Organization in accordance with the provisions of the convention and the protocol.

Article 3

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
