Royal Decree 9/2005 Declaring Public Benefit Status to the Wilayat of Saham Souq Development Project (Phase II)

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit issued by Royal Decree 64/78 and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 68/2003 Declaring Public Benefit Status to the Wilayat of Saham Souq Development Project,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Wilayat of Saham Souq Development Project (Phase II) specified in the attached note and masterplan is hereby deemed a public benefit project.

Article II

The competent entities may seize, through direct execution, establishments and land necessary for the project, in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
