Royal Decree 53/2021 Amending Some Provisions of the Vehicle Insurance Law

We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,

and the Vehicle Insurance Law promulgated by Royal Decree 34/94,

and after presentation to Majlis Oman,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The attached amendment to the aforementioned Vehicle Insurance Law shall be implemented.

Article II

All that is contrary to the attached amendment, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article III

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.

Amending Some Provisions of the Vehicle Insurance Law

Clause (c) of article 15 of the aforementioned Vehicle Insurance Law is hereby replaced with the following text:

If the driver of the vehicle did not obtain a driving licence for the type of vehicle, if it has been judicially or administratively withdrawn from him, or if he is under the influence of intoxicating, narcotic, or psychotropic substances.
